TrueVUE™ Exchange™
In order to maximize the benefits of item-level RFID, a technology solution needs to be flexible enough to tie into other systems. In some cases, the need may be to tie into legacy systems, such as POS, ERP, Warehouse Management and Inventory Management. In other cases, the need may be to interface with another commercial RFID product, or even a “home-grown” application.
With this in mind, Vue has developed its RFID technologies based entirely upon a cross platform, web services based integration platform. TrueVUE Exchange are web services published by Vue Technology that allow system integrators, partners and customers to seamlessly integrate EPC and RFID data into existing 3rd party systems and applications.

To provide complete platform-independence, Vue Technology uses only document-style web services as defined by the SOAP standard. Because XML is the language of communication, applications written in .NET and Java work transparently on any platform, whether it be Windows, Linux, or Unix. For implementations with heightened security requirements, TrueVUE Exchange also support the Web Services Security standard.
In addition to the synchronous capabilities provided by web service interfaces, Vue Technology also supports a number of asynchronous interfaces using a Java Message Service (JMS) publish-subscribe model. These text messages are also all XML-based, so that they can be processed by any platform. Used in conjunction, these JMS messages and web services lay the foundation for highly efficient, highly responsive integration with legacy systems and value-added applications.
Finally, because all of Vue Technology’s TrueVUE Exchange are implemented exclusively using Java technologies, these services can be deployed on any desired platform. Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 are supported out-of-the-box. Using a database-independent architecture, Vue Technology can easily support other database platforms of choice.
